Money Chronicles showcases the honest money experiences of everyday people who use Cowrywise. Today, I spoke with Nmabuobi, one of our users who got disciplined with her savings and spent within her means. This is one fun short conversation you want to read through.
Hi hi 🤩 Can we meet you?
My name is Nmabuobi Oba and I am a student at the University of Ibadan, I am also a video editor and a motion graphics designer.
This is amazing! How did you hear about Cowrywise?
I heard about Cowrywise on Social Media, I was interested in financial freedom early so I did some Google searches and here we are.😊
You’re a smart one. Not many people pay attention to this at a young age.
So now that you use the Cowrywise app, what is your best Cowrywise feature and why?
The Dollar Investments, because it gives me an introduction to how investing in the stock market would be, till I am able to do that in a bigger capacity.
What other features would you love to see?
More investment plans actually, I’m good with features because I use almost all of them😁
Okay! Have you had any issues using the Cowrywise app?
Yes I have, there was a time I tried to join the ambassador’s savings plan but I couldn’t save on it again after the second month even after trying to fund the plan multiple times.😥
Oh sorry about that! I’ll get this across to the team. By the way, what changed about your finances since you started using Cowrywise?
Discipline, I can’t do any unnecessary urgent 2k anymore😂
Haha! 🤣🤣 I’m glad it helped you build discipline. Do you refer people to use Cowrywise?
Yes, most definitely!😋
What advice would you give someone who’s stalling on opening a Cowrywise account?
What is there to lose if you open it?🤷♀️ Your money is definitely safe, has layers to the safety, and the rainy days people talk about, are real! Be prepared for them.
Tell us your top money lessons Nmabuobi
- Don’t get something if you can’t afford at least three of it, because you can’t “truly” afford it.
- Live below your means, you’ll keep up. I promise.
- Invest in quality things, you spend way more money getting knockoffs over and over again.
What’s one thing you never mind spending money on and why?
Laundry, I really really do not like washing clothes.
Well, not many people like doing that too. Well done Nwabuobi and thank you!
If you also want to avoid constant withdrawal of your savings and maintain a disciplined saving culture just like Nmabuobi, now is the time to start.
