For Muslims, their investment values are determined by a concept known as Halal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Halal is an Arabic word that means allowable, lawful or authorized by Islamic law. Therefore, when Muslims invest, they look out for assets that are approved by the Shariah law. With that in mind and because we\u2019re building a wealth management company that leaves no one behind, we introduced halal investments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cowrywise.com\/blog\/united-capital-sukuk-fund\/\">United Capital Sukuk Fund<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cowrywise.com\/blog\/halal-investment-fund\/\">Lotus Halal Investment Fund<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we didn\u2019t stop there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Introducing Halal Accounts<\/strong> on Cowrywise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, it was a lot more manual to save or invest based on halal values. This was because you had to set your separate savings plans to be interest-free and also sieve through which investment options were halal compliant. In addition, it was impossible to take advantage of certain savings plans on the app like the Emergency Plan and Circles because you could not set them to be interest-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video autoplay controls loop src=\"https:\/\/cowrywise.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/How-to-turn-on-halal.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to switch to a halal account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log into your app and tap your name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click &#8220;Profile&#8221; and tap &#8220;Behaviour&#8221; on the edit profile screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then tap on &#8220;Make my account Halal&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What does this mean?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you activate the <em>&#8220;Make My Account Halal<\/em>\u201d toggle, it means your savings will be interest-free. Also, the only investment options you\u2019ll see on the app will be halal-complaint.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, you have the option of removing all previous interests earned. However, this is only possible on your current locked plans and Emergency Plan.
