{"id":5317,"date":"2021-06-05T19:08:48","date_gmt":"2021-06-05T18:08:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cowrywise.com\/blog\/?p=5317"},"modified":"2021-06-05T19:09:41","modified_gmt":"2021-06-05T18:09:41","slug":"opes-diary-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cowrywise.com\/blog\/opes-diary-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Entry 5: Midnight Email Drafts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This work never ends, or in everyday parlance: \u201cWork no dey finish\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was up 12 AM today drafting emails for Fathers\u2019 Day, and I wrote about 15 variations before I arrived at a final choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, those emails you take screenshots of and laugh about on twitter take so much work to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the record, I love how you all hype my work online even though that comes with a spice of threats to break my head. About <a href=\"https:\/\/cowrywise.com\/blog\/opes-diary-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">those threats<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve started visiting the gym\u2014and I promise it\u2019s just to keep fit so I can run when I finally meet those threatening me ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But then, you are all nice people so you might never find out that I can actually give Bolt a run for his money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Well, today isn\u2019t the day to brag. Let\u2019s get it moving&#8230; <\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>After drafting and scheduling the email to inform you all about <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cowrywise\/status\/1400008325127888897?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our plan for Father&#8217;s Day<\/a>, I slept around 1:45 a.m. Faith, our lead for People &amp; Culture, would definitely speak to me about this later. But I guess I just have a thing for drafting emails at midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, I had a good night rest. The office AC was on steroids. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did I sleep at the office? Yes. Before you judge me, we have a great bed space for people who want to sleepover. Given the state of Lagos\u2019 traffic yesterday, I slept over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later this morning, I zoomed home; took a quick shower; and went off for a wedding. I really gave myself to the <em>owambe<\/em> vibes till I saw people buying money to spray. Ahhhh ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> So, here\u2019s what happened, people paid \u20a660,000 to get \u20a650,000 worth of mint \u20a6500 notes, and \u20a626,000 to get \u20a620,000 worth of \u20a6200 notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I kept asking: \u201cWhy not transfer the cash to them?\u201d, \u201cMust you spray new notes?\u201d, but I like peace so I didn\u2019t fume much so I won&#8217;t get dragged on Feranmi&#8217;s timeline again ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-container\"><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">When you invite Ope from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cowrywise?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@cowrywise<\/a> to the club and start popping your entire salary. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uI6kc6tUuQ\">pic.twitter.com\/uI6kc6tUuQ<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Black Jaguar (@A_Feranmi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/A_Feranmi\/status\/1229679117341220865?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 18, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe I should just allow people enjoy things, right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How did your Saturday go?
